These photos depict my first tiny house, which I designed and built during my Sophomore year. I used recycled materials for almost the entire structure, so the whole project only cost $40.00 to construct. This was my first experience in building a project of this scale, and it inspired me to continue designing small homes with my thesis.

Exterior Photos

All of the siding for this structure came from the lumber from a dock that was torn down in my area. I also found the door on the side of the road, and the windows were both salvaged as well.

Interior Photos

Like the tiny house that I designed in my thesis, I tried to create this house with walls full of windows to allow in natural light and make the space seem larger. As a result, the structure did feel relatively spacious, despite the fact that it was only 32-square-feet.





The photo on the left shows the hammock, which could be stowed like this when not in use. When needed, one side of the hammock was unhooked from the left wall and attached to the hook on the right side of the house.
